Each piece begins in the hands of a master artisan. Paja toquilla weaving is a technique passed down through generations. It takes years to master: to understand the tension of each strand, the precision of every knot, the balance between structure and softness.
We produce in small batches, allowing craftsmanship to set the pace.
A Shared Legacy.
Our story starts nine decades ago, with two women in northern Peru who not only became lifelong friends, but shared a deep love for their community. That bond, and that love for their land, never left their families.
Their daughters, Daniela and Gisela, grew up shaped by the same values and sixty years of friendship between them. When crisis came, they led the response. And when the emergency ended, they turned relief into something lasting: a model built on craft, skill, and economic independence for the women of their community. That model became Costerra.

Daniela has spent her career at the intersection of market insight and taste: tracking trends, reading what's next, and translating that vision into products people actually want. Gisela is a graphic designer with a sharp eye for aesthetics and a deep understanding of how objects communicate.}
